This is a journal exercise to reflect on the relationships and social ecosystem of your life. This includes a new relationships model, a page with prompts, reflection questions and ways to grow in areas of your relationship map, an example relationships map and a blank map for you to create your own visual of the relationships in your life!

This exercise is based off of Bronfenbrenner’s Ecological Model. Ecological systems theory was developed by Bronfenbrenner to illustrate how personal development occurs within the context of various ecosystems. Applied widely throughout child development, using this theory to create an eco-map can help create a whole picture of our own personal development.

You will create your own relationship (eco) map to reflect on your personal development. You can create as many maps as you would like - I suggest:

a map of your current relationships

a map of your relationships as a child

a map of how you would like your relationships to be
